What medications help treat anxiety, depression, and panic attacks?
I have been on Lexapro for about a year and a half, and I have gone from 10 mg to 20 mg, for various reasons including not sleeping, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks, and so far I have had no problems, and my doctor is really good about upping my dose if needed. I have had no problems at all, and overall I have been very satisfied with the difference it has made in my life, but now that I have moved to a new city for school, I am living by myself, and I have noticed a few monsters creeping their ugly heads out again. I have been having massive panic attacks without warning or being caused by anything, being really "low" and depressed for no reason, having more thoughts about hurting myself and acting on those thoughts (after about a year of being SIV free). I have also had a few issues concentrating, staying focused and finishing things. I want a few ideas of different drugs I could suggest to my doctor, and I’d like to know what the medicines do and how they effect you (pros and cons, please).

Hey, I understand how you feel…
The uncomfortable symptoms like sweaty palms, "jelly" legs, extreme alertness, "impending doom" feeling and the fight-or-flight response.
I’ve been there. I’m an ex-victim. Sometimes the deep breathing or distraction techniques doesn’t work – a full-blown panic or anxiety attack happens later.
Sometimes you experience panic attack out of the blue and such.
Do NOT buy Panic Away, Linden Method, EasyCalm or the Panic Puzzle. They do NOT work – I’ve tried them and their solutions are similar – it DOESN’T WORK.
Medications do NOT work – I was under many antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft) and anti-anxiety medications (Ativan, Klonopin, and Xanax) but my condition was the same – no improvement at all.
The only program that really work is The Panic Attack Solution. It’s found by an ex-victim. You can check out his old blog in his official website to read up some useful tips.
But the package is the best – it teaches 17 powerful techniques and the real solution to panic attacks. I’ve bought it and it really helped me – it’s the BEST anti-anxiety package or book I’ve read.
His theory really makes sense and it works effectively!
You will learn why your panic attacks can happen without warning sometimes; why having stimulant causes panic attacks; and many-many other useful tips!

Try going on Zoloft. It helped me. Another thing I could suggest is Prozac. Good luck
I really hope you get better!
Instead of upping your dosage, consider taking something like xanax.
You can take it when you feel the extra anxiety and not everyday. It will help on those very stressful days. It just mellows you out a bit, calms you down so the anxiety doesn’t lead to a panic attack.
Good luck
I have all of your symptoms as well although i haven’t actually ever really been cured i have been temporarily anxiety free once i’m on aropax it’s a strange feeling not being anxiety but yeah another thing i’ve turned to is smoking weed it reaaally calms you down.
Several years ago, I got panic attacks so bad I would have to dump cold water on myself to calm down. I was so scared to take medication for it because I didnt want to feel ‘out of it’ or ‘drugged up’ or ‘loopy’
Without going into a long deal, I did eventually take meds.
Before I was prescribed medication, (Ativan) a friend gave me a few Xanax.
I liked the Xanax because it worked right away, within minutes, but, it didnt last long.
Ativan took longer to kick in, but it lasted a long time.
4me&my probs–klonopin 1mg tablets i take once aweek for hassly problems i muddle thru. this pill takes the edge off trying 2 deal w/difficult ppl and situations..i become more calmer & think logically w/o my panicked emotions which would just make my probs even more of aconfusing mess.klonopin fliters out all the thoughts/feelings that come from my anxiety.klonopin actually has a taming effect on my -it mamages my mood swings. it helps me think bf i do something. i get depressed and aggressive when im not on my schedule of klonopin for over a week. the pros are that they act quickly in your system and last for 4 days till i gotta take another dose.
hi
prozac and klonopin 1mg tablets may help to reduce the effect of anxiety and panic attack.
However, this will have effect only on the symptoms and not on the cause. meaning it will provide you with temporary relief.
if you seek to reduce the symptoms you also may try:
1. change diet.
2. engage with sport activity.
3. practice sharing (connect you to the environment)
4. practice meditation.
if you seek getting to the root and have your life free of these there are thing you can do:
use the "one move technic" (http://panic.mirrorz.com/) anxiety and panic attack, it will help you to eliminate it for good.
