My 17 year old son has symptoms of anxiety. We know the things that can be done medically, but we’re looking first at natural remedies. Does anyone know what aromatherapies work best? Vitamins/minerals/herbs? Music therapy? Other? Thanks!
emigirl6—he’s been to both his physician and he is currently in counseling. Thanks for the input!

I used to have pretty bad anxiety attacks and would go to the ER or just generally freak out, but once I labeled them as anxiety attacks, they aren’t as severe anymore and I can handle them better when they come.

But lately, I get what I call an oversensitivity to light. I’ll be driving in the afternoon and have to squint my eyes because the light outside hurts. Or if I have to be outside for any reason, the sunlight bothers me and I get nervous. It also happens with artificial light–Wal Mart in particular, with all those flourescent lights really gets me and I can only stay in there for so long before getting out.

I’ve had eye exams, so that’s not the problem.

I am told that once you get over certain symptoms of anxiety and they are no longer a threat to you, your body can do "symptom shifting" and your anxiety then finds another way to manifest itself. Perhaps this is what’s happening? Now that I’ve gotten past the typical anxiety attack symptoms, my body is finding new avenues? I do notice I am nervous when this "light sensitivity" comes on.

Just want someone’s opinion on this.

I am only 16, but I have major anxiety attacks… how do I stop them? I have had them since I was 12.. and when it happens I don’t know how to function. I lose myself in my emotions and I freak out. And I am set off when I am not able to make people happy. I have been told my personality is that I connect to how someone is feeling and feed off of it until i feel the same way.. I create bonds with people I love and when something happens I get upset… but I get all the symptoms of Anxiety Attacks… and I get them bad… please help.

Calm confident and inconrole.
How can i do this? is there any exercises i can do or anything i can say to myself to keep me from feeling the symptoms of anxiety?

What are the symptoms of Anxiety Attacks, or how do I know if I am getting them?

Don: I think what I’m having is a panic attack. See, I hate being in front of people. I get super nervous. Today I had to come home from school because I wasn’t feeling well- and when I got to Lunch, I just couldn’t stand it. I found a teacher and went to the nurse. She told me I could go home, and when I got home, after 10 minutes or so, everything was fine again.

Can someone please tell me what are the symptoms of anxiety attacks?
Does Lexapro help with anxiety?
Do Anxiety attacks go away on there own?

I had a Really bad Migraine awhile ago. I had numbness, vision problems and slurred speech. Eversince then I panic when a glare of light hits my eyes or someone takes a picture with a flash. I also feel like i see white spots when I glance at something fast. It makes me so scared that I begin to panic and sweat and get really scared. I hate feeling like this. Has anyone else ever had a migraine like that? I also worry about everything! I was given Lexapro not sure if I should start a medication or not!
I did go to the Dr. thats why I got the Lexapro. I had a tramatic event the day before my migraine and since then I’m scared of another one.
I went to a counsler and she says i’m fine but because I’m so anxious all the time and worry about everything maybe I should try meds.

Does anyone know the symptoms or know if these sounds like symptoms of anxiety/panic attacks.

I suffer reactive hypoglycemia, I lost about 20% of my hearing in my right ear and I was diagnosed with Chron’s decease and later told that was a severe infection in the final portion of the small intestine called Ilium, I’m 31 years old I have no prior symptoms of anxiety and I was searching and found that this may cause or trigger the attacks, has anyone heard about seredyn to end the attacks.
