I have Panic Disorder but haven’t had a panic attack for like a month. I experience chest pain regularly do any others who have Panic Attacks? I am on the verge of graduating high school right now, and soon I will be heading off to college. My goal is to see the world and find independance, but my Panic Disorder is interfering with it all. I have had Panic Disorder for the past 8 years, but only have been recently diagnosed. I absolutley refuse to go on medication, for various reasons, and right now I see a therapist to teach me to overcome it. Still, while I despratley want to follow my dreams, the sickness is a leash, and i’m afraid what will happen when I am on my own. Is there any way I can follow my dreams without being afraid constantly that I wont have anyone to catch me when I fall? How do I deal with it when no one is there to help? Advice is much appreciated.

Okay. I know it sounds weird. I was diagnosed with panic disorder but looking back on my case, doctors think they misdiagnosed me. Here are my symptoms:
-Massive mood swings: from comfortable to angry to sad in about 5 minutes.
-Hearing voices and hallucinations but verbal not physical
-I have these attacks where I get really stressed and I freak out and then I act like the things above.
Weird. I only hear voices or get massive mood swings when I am having my "panic attacks".
Does anyone knows of a medication to treat anxiety and panic disorder that does not cause weight gain plue depression too.Or any other thing i can to to control the attack i have them every day .Please need help
I have severe anxiety, mild panic disorder, ADD, and my mind is always racing with thoughts.
I don’t want to take any prescribed medication since I have heard of all the nasty side-effects. I’ve been researching natural remedies such as kava kava and GABA. Anyone have actual experience taking a supplement that helped or didn’t help? Give details please!
I have severe panic disorder and social anxiety and I was prescribed trileptol and celexa. I’ve been taking them for almost a year now, and I haven’t noticed any change physically or mentally. Is there a different medication I should be taking?
Catch 22 – I have panic disorder to the point of not being able to go a mile from the house. I’ve grown a resistance to my meds and they do not sedate me. I have an appointment this wednesday to have a new med program prescibed, but I can’t make it to the doctor to get it. What do I do? Getting there will just have me be seen, but there is nothing that can take care of immediate attacks that occur en route or at the doctor. Just a slip of paper, "try this" and good luck making it back home, freak. My anxiety is high, my temper is bad and I’d almost prefer being shot than making this appointment.
I do prefer answers from people that understand or have experienced panic disorder as most that have no idea just say "be a man and take it." Not helpful in this situation.
i have anxiety and panic disorder.. i have all kinds of chest discomfort.. my doc saids its normal.. i just wanna know what kinds there are.. and is it normal to be very obsesive over things when you have anxiety
I was in therapy last year for 6 months for panic disorder and emetophobia (fear of vomiting). I had to quit due to losing my insurance. Now I am having the same anxious feelings again, sweating, upset stomach, hot flashes, body aches, etc. I can’t stand to go thru it again and don’t know what to do. I have been doing my breathing but it still keeps coming. We are in a really stressful time right now and I think it might be due to that. Anyone with any advice I would really appreciate.
One time, my mum and I went to a local grocery store, to make long story short, she thought she lost her pouch inside the grocery (I was holding it)… She was suddenly like, "where’s my pouuuch???? where’s my pouch!!!," she panicked! What the! Her face looked really weird and worried! I told her I have it.. Whoah…
It happens most of the time.
Now my question is, if that happens, does that trigger her blood to rise up again? (high blood pressure?)
Could it be a panic disorder or just from her high blood pressure?
It is summer right now in ur place, temperature is always around 32ºC – 38ºC. It also contributes in having high blood pressure, right?
What’s the best thing to do then?
Mom is only 57.
Any people who are into business like and are smart and had panic disorder or anxiety problems and how they got over it?
Can anyone tell me why is it that you work so hard to get over a panic disorder only for the panic attacks to start all over again out of the blue? I developed a panic disorder when I was 20 years old. I was having anxiety attacks constantly; over everything. I worked really hard and managed to live a somewhat normal existence after about three years ( having an attack Only about every six months or so) and stayed that way until very recently. I am 35 now and I’ve started the attacks daily again over simple things: like driving three miles to work or when the wind blows or for no reason what so ever. Should I go back on the meds that I have done without for five years. I know I am rambling, but I am so tired inside of not being able to control this fear of fear that I have going on.
I suffer from panic disorder for a couple of years now. I have gone to psychiatrists, psychologists, read books & been on medication. Most of the time i feel horrible. I would just like to know if there is actually a person out there who has recovered from panic disorder without the drugs, which i absolutely cannot handle. And i’m not talking about those infomercial people, which you are not sure if they are being honest or not. Panic disorder is hell on earth & i would like to know if anybody has been able to escape it…
I suffer from a panic disorder and I absolutely cannot drive on or near the interstate without having the worst panic attack ever. Just curious if anyone else has suffered or is suffering from this and how are you or did you deal with it?
i have gained 40 pounds taking zoloft . is there another medication i can take that wouldn’t make me gain weight and would help me with my panic disorder?
What are some of the medications that are not approved for panic disorder but are prescribed by physicians for this disorder? I suffer from panic disorder and would like to know some suggestions when I ask my doctor. What meds has anyone had success with?
