I have been struggling with panic attacks since I was 5 years old. I have had virtually every treatment under the sun. I am in cognitive behavioral therapy and it is helping, but one thing has not changed – any time I become anxious about something or have a panic attack, my stomach goes on revolt against me. I have severe bouts of intestinal cramping and diarrhea, as well as nausea and vomiting, whenever I have a panic attack. I have tried Xanax but while it does decrease my overall anxiety, it does very little for my distressing GI symptoms.

I was prescribed Levsin to help with the intestinal cramping and diarrhea (doctors believe I have IBS), and I was also given a script for Zofran, an anti-emetic usually used in chemo or radiation patients. They said the anti-nausea effects of the medication and the serotonin-influencing properties of the drug might help with my panic attack related stomach problems

Does anyone have any experience with using Zofran to treat anxiety-related gastrointestinal issues? This has been going on for me for years and I’m really at the end of my rope right about now! Any suggestions you can give are welcome and highly appreciated. Thank you!

For several years now, I have been battling severe panic attacks related to social anxiety disorder/agoraphobia. It isn’t just "shyness", it’s a full-blown panic attack – sweating, chills, rapid pulse, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, hyperventilating, and the overwhelming need to get out of the situation immediately.

I am on daily Zoloft to curb the anxiety, and Xanax as-needed for panic attacks. The Zoloft works alright, the Xanax works better, but neither is 100% and I have several very stressful weeks coming up and I need some kind of remedy or trick, preferably something all-natural, to help me cope with the panic attacks.

All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated. =)

After attending the wake of my cousin I assumed I was fine. 3 weeks later, this monday night, I started having intense anxiety. I come home and cry and mainly feel nausea. The anxiety is so bad, it has made me lose my appetite. It’s interfering with my entire life right now, my parents and my boyfriend are extremely worried.

Are there any treatments I can use to help myself?

I went to the ER about 2 months ago because of an anxiety attack. He referred me to see a phychologist. He said I’m developing generalized anxiety disorder. I worry all the time about me health because of the anxiety symptoms. I don’t get attacks anymore…I’m just in a state of anxiety all the time. I’ve had a blood test, EKG, and a thyroid test. I have symptoms like chest pain, tingly arms & hands, headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue etc.

I’ve been having panic attacks for about a year now. I also usually have like a lump in my throat feeling and nausea. I saw a doctor a few months ago and she prescribed me some Lorazepam. The med did not work very well, and I still have panic attacks.
I have panic attacks because I start thinking of getting them or getting nauseous. So in a way, I have developed a fear; I’m pretty sure I must have Panic Disorder.

I had an anxiety attack yesterday, & after talking out my frustration, I felt much better. Later on, I had an unbearable headache, sore throat, & nausea.

my symptoms are: anxiety, not being able to sleep late at night, nausea, wanting to be outside in the fresh air, rational thoughts. Has anybody ever heard lydia pinkham herbal tablets (they say it’s good for menstruation and menopause?) By the way I am 37 years old.

Everytime I get a panic attack, I not only have the overwhelming very scary feelings of panic and fear. But I also have very miserable physical symptoms that go along with the attacks these symptoms often include nausea, chills, shaking, stomach cramps, diarrhea, lightheadness, feeling disoriented. Does anyone else relate to this, and if you have ever had these physical symptoms as well what do you do make yourself feel better during the attacks? Or these physical symptoms all in our head, or are they our body’s way of reacting to being under such overwhelming fear and anxiety?

I have been experiencing cheek flushing, blotches on my chest, acid integestion, nausea, and light headedness and dizziness. I am wondering if this is anxiety.
