DBT - is the only known treatment that works for Bpd.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an empirically validated treatment approach developed for Borderline Personality Disorder. A key assertion in DBT is that self-destructive behaviors are learned coping strategies for unbearable intense negative emotions.

DBT combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies with Eastern mindfulness (Zen) practices and involves both individual therapy and group skills training. Clinical research has consistently found DBT to be effective in reducing self-destructive behavior patterns and in optimizing ability to cope more effectively.

Please check out the websites below to find out more the first is a site by a doctor who specializes in Bpd...

The second is a site run by a great lady named Ash who is/was a borderline sufferer.

Stick with your psychologist. They will be able to help you come to terms with the root cause of your problem.

A non addictive herd such as Valerian, can reduce the effects of panic attacks, but be careful to only take one and test yourself for any increased agressive feeling. If you do have an increase your body can`t handle it.
Other possible herbal relaxants are Hops and Passionflower.
Go and talk to a herbalist and get one on one advice and help on the use of herbs, to reduce your anxiety.
Be sure to keep both your GP and Psychologist fully informed on any action you take.

In my experience.... bullying causes resistance to what is happening in this moment, so that excessive thinking arises and causes suffering.

Suffice to say, I can help.

Hi, I have BPD and get mood swings with it that range from almost manic to severe depression. I'm currently on Citalopram (40mg) and Quetiapine (Seroquel - 100mg (am, 200mg (pm)). I find this combination really helps me, I've just had to have my quetiapine increased as my mood has gone quite high again, but I've not been as stable as I have been for months. It also helps with my paranoia as the quetiapine is an anti-psychotic. I was on lithium that really helped, but it started to affect my thyroid so I had to be taken off it.

Unfortunately, just because this combination works for me, it might not work for the next person, medications for these types of illness are very hit and miss, it's a case of finding the one or combination that work for you.
