Every person is familiar with the feeling of anxiety. We might feel tense before an important test or a lecture, our heart might race fast before an interview, we feel worried for our loved ones. However, this mechanism is essential as it signals us that there is a problem; something irregular and unusual. Anxiety can help us stay alert and focused and motivate us to solve our problems.
However, suffering from anxiety attacks is a whole different story. People who suffer from anxiety attacks on a regular basis, life can become unbearable; they will do everything to avoid certain situations attempting to abstain from what triggers the attacks. Thus, may prevent themselves from leading and living the life they want.
Panic attacks can be treated. The treatment includes cognitive therapy combined with medication. However, there are things you can do to control it if you suffer from mild attacks. Keeping a healthy and balanced diet eating small meals frequently throughout the day found to be helpful. Eating every few hours insures that your sugar level in the blood won’t go down; a decreased level of sugar in the blood can make you feel nervous and irritable.
Another factor that might play a role is caffeine. Caffeine is proved to cause anxiety, sleeping problems and even trigger a panic attack. Soft drinks, snacks and deserts can also worsen the condition.
Practicing relaxation techniques on a daily basis can improve your condition immensely. There are many relaxation techniques that you can practice: meditation controlled breathing techniques, guided visualization and progressing muscles relaxation. You can embrace one or more ways to practice and you will see that it cuts down on you anxiety significantly.
Panic Attack Treatment with Xanax
Panic attack is state or an episode of intensive and unrealistic fear that caused suddenly with no apparent reason. The symptoms of panic attack which are usually trembling, heavy breathing, heart palpitations, chest pain, sweating, nausea, dizziness,
Hyperventilation can up to 30 minutes. Some can have a panic attack for only a few seconds and some can have a few episodes of 30 minutes in row causing the panic attack to last a few hours.
The most effective and useful treatment of panic attacks is a c combination of cognitive therapy along with taking xanax. Xanax, also known as alprazolam, is a short-acting benzodiazepine primarily used to treat anxiety disorders and depression
Xanax was approved by the FDA in 1981 for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder with or without agoraphobia, and anxiety associated with depression (but not indicated for the treatment of depression alone).
The quick acting nature of xanax makes it an ideal medication to take immediately before panic-provoking events. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes until you feel its anxiety-reducing benefits
Xanax block panic attacks quicker than the antidepressants, often in a week or two. They also tend to have fewer side effects than the antidepressants. However, although xanax can be very efficient and eliminate the symptoms it does not manage the problem and its real reasons in the long term. Thus, it is very important to combine the medicine treatment along with psychological treatment to understand the roots of this problem and get rid of it permanently.
Also, it is important to know that while Long-term use of xanax may lead to physical and/or psychological dependence. Patients often develop a tolerance to the drug’s sedative effects. However, tolerance to the anxiolytic effects is rare when used at proper dosage levels.
Hi yahoo answers tell me the remedy for panic attack…
I am 15 years old, 130 pounds.
I smoked cigarettes on and off for a year and a half, very few though, one or two every weekend.
I enjoyed smoking and never had complications with it.
Same with alcohol.
But about a few months ago I smoked a cigarette and experienced a racing heart, headache, weakness, and I am pretty sure I almost passed out.
I now have this feeling once in a while, like after I take medicine or drink caffeine.
It also happens if I find myself alone, or awake late at night.
I need something that will control this feeling so I don’t have panic attacks and can feel safe again.
I have found that a shot or two of vodka helps a lot, but that is somewhat hard to come by now, and I wouldn’t feel safe taking it, like I might experience a panic attack again, like when I take medicine.
Please help!!
I recently had a "breakdown". I had a lot of negative stuff hit me all at once. My husband took me to the e.r. and they monitored me for about 9 hours and released me advising me to seek mental health. I contacted my local mental health board the following work day and spent a few days in a wellness center (not a mental health hospital). I was medicated with Lexapro but it is costly. I don’t have an appt with mental health again for some time and even then it will just be an intake interview. My delimma for the time is are there any effective "home remedies" for panic attacks. I suffer from tightness in my chest, heart beating fast and nervousness. I had a panic attack yesterday an took a 0.5 xanax but I would prefer not to take something like that. I recently lost my job (another major stressor) and don’t have the money to see my family physician at this time. I just need a few pointer to help with the panic attacks until I can see someone at mental health to hep with medication…

I’m looking for natural remedies for anxiety/panic attacks. Its for a friend, drugs are NOT an option. I stopped by the health food store today, but there were so many options. I want to recommend something effective. I have heard good things about Rescue Remedy, and so bought some of that. Has anyone had good results with this or anything else? She has panic attacks related to severe social anxiety. Also, if anyone knows of a good book or website where I could learn more about panic remedies, that would be much appreciated. Thanks! -Neb

I’ve had panic attacks for 10+ yrs. Have been off Lexapro for about 3-4 weeks. Now getting bad headaches. Feel a lot better since I’ve been off the meds. I feel one coming on once in a while, and natural remedies that work? I stay away from caffeine, work out and try to eat decent. I don’t want to go back on medicine. I felt too out of it when I did. I was only on 10mg then down to 5mg before I quit. Any suggestions?
For several years now, I have been battling severe panic attacks related to social anxiety disorder/agoraphobia. It isn’t just "shyness", it’s a full-blown panic attack – sweating, chills, rapid pulse, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, hyperventilating, and the overwhelming need to get out of the situation immediately.
I am on daily Zoloft to curb the anxiety, and Xanax as-needed for panic attacks. The Zoloft works alright, the Xanax works better, but neither is 100% and I have several very stressful weeks coming up and I need some kind of remedy or trick, preferably something all-natural, to help me cope with the panic attacks.
All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated. =)
Does anyone out there have anything that works for them? Aside from medication, I was searching for quick, sure-fire methods for relieving sudden panics. It sometimes interferes with my schooling and my job. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
I have these crazy panic attacks that come out of nowhere where I feel like I’m going out of my mind…which in turn is even scarier because I think that if I do really go out of my mind I’ll be locked up in a mental institution. Is there anything that is better (more mild) that xanax? I don’t wanna keep taking the hard stuff and end up getting addicted. More so is there a natural remedy or herbs (mixture of herbs) that can help?
I heard that Niacinamide is a good home remedy for panic attacks. Has anyone tried this?
And what exactly is Niacinamide anyways?
~Any other home remedies for panic attacks would be greatly appreciated!
