I was in therapy last year for 6 months for panic disorder and emetophobia (fear of vomiting). I had to quit due to losing my insurance. Now I am having the same anxious feelings again, sweating, upset stomach, hot flashes, body aches, etc. I can’t stand to go thru it again and don’t know what to do. I have been doing my breathing but it still keeps coming. We are in a really stressful time right now and I think it might be due to that. Anyone with any advice I would really appreciate.
I went to the hospital for an anxiety attack but don’t really want to take medication for it, because usually i can fight them off. has anyone ever overcome anxiety another way such as with a therapist or psychiatrist? and which one is better to go see?
I did it by taking lecthin and fish oil .
Also exposure and relaxation exercises.
Used to have panic attacks all the time.
Crowds made my head spin .
Mine comes and goes but its horrible lately since my bf dumped me,i usually cope by drinking to relax me,how about you?
Why do cigarettes come me down when I am anxious and about to have panic attacks? What is in cagarettes that has this effect.Because I dont want to smoke to help ease with my anxiety. Is there anything also I can do that will have same effect but not smoke.I just think smoking is really bad.
I need to get a job and get on with my life, but how can I do that when simply driving to the store sends me on a hellish fit of fear and panic? I cant even get to the doctors easily….
If you were once a sufferer and found treatment, your opinion would be most valid.
Okay so I have a heart condition, I’m not sure what it is but I’m seeing a cardiologist sometime in the next month. I take seroquel at night, I actually just changed from 500 mg to 400. I used to get horrible palpitations on 500 mgs, to where I couldn’t catch my breath, I felt faint, lightheaded, and had to sit down for a minute, and they were started by even minute physical activity, like climbing a short flight of stairs. It’s better on the 400, but I still get the palpitations. When I run, my heart goes spastic and my face gets really flushed and warm and I break out in a sweat and I can’t catch my breath. Today I ran more than I usually can and I (discreetly) collapsed for a few seconds because my legs were too weak.
Also, I have severe anxiety and depression problems, and I’m very prone to panic attacks. Lately, with going back to school, being a senior, having a VERY heavy caseload, and having some stressful stuff going on at home, it seems like my heart issues have been more prominent. Just a bit ago, surfing the internet I found some articles saying anxiety and stress can make heart problems worse, and I was wondering: if I get medication to treat the anxiety (which I’ve been meaning to do for a while anyway), would my heart problems decrease? I know that it’s an underlying condition and it won’t totally make it go away, I just want to know if it will even affect it.
I am 17 and have been having anxiety/panic attacks for about 2 months now… when will they go away? I know someone that is being treated for panic attacks associated w/ an anxiety disorder.
Currently, they have been taking Zolfot for about 8 years. However, I have known this person for about 3 years. I have found that over the past 3 years, this person has changed significantly.
All of the issue they are having, happen to be side effects of Zolfot. This includes weight gain, drowsiness, a general lack of energy and interest and (from what I’ve heard) a lack of sexual desire.
I suggested this person stop taking the medication, but they are scared the panic attacks might start again.
I don’t blame them. However, is there anyway that a person can be treated w/ a different medication.
Also, is there anyway a person can receive treatment for anxiety disorders and panic attacks through working w/ a therapist?
One time, my mum and I went to a local grocery store, to make long story short, she thought she lost her pouch inside the grocery (I was holding it)… She was suddenly like, "where’s my pouuuch???? where’s my pouch!!!," she panicked! What the! Her face looked really weird and worried! I told her I have it.. Whoah…
It happens most of the time.
Now my question is, if that happens, does that trigger her blood to rise up again? (high blood pressure?)
Could it be a panic disorder or just from her high blood pressure?
It is summer right now in ur place, temperature is always around 32ºC – 38ºC. It also contributes in having high blood pressure, right?
What’s the best thing to do then?
Mom is only 57.
I would like to hear some stories because I am having a difficult time dealing with my panic attacks and it feels like I I’m going to pass out or die sometimes. I feel out of breath and dizzy. I just don’t know what to do anymore.
How to treat social anxiety attacks?
My symptoms when in public discussions with people or sitting through a public lecture or conference meeting. I lose concentration and become light headed. I feel very uncomfortable. This feeling usually will last through out the whole meeting and even about 30 min after. I have a hard time eating soon after as well because I have trouble swallowing. Can someone help me out? I have been to the doctor and she prescribed me a anti depression, anxiety medication. I don’t really want to take this because of the side effects. Please help
I am 25 and have gotten panic attacks since i was in middle school. I usually keep a stick of vicks vapor inhaler in my pocket because when I feel the panic come on, if I inhale a little vicks, I seem to calm down and breath a bit more regulated. Is this placebo or did I actually discover a lil handy tool to share with others. I can’t imagine it being good on the nose maybe to use often, but far and few between, it can’t hurt I dont think. Anyways….feedback welcome…thanks!
when I was 19 I had an anxiety attack .I was prescribed xanax . I was on them for awhile but not for long. As life went bye I began having constant nausea and stomach pain. I went through every stomach pill imaginable. Nothing worked and I was in er 4 days out of a week. Finally the doctors took the right path and started treating me for anxiety and depression. After about two weeks evrything was almost great . I had no nausea or stomach pain. I am still doing ok while taking 200mg of zoloft daily. The only trouble is I still have those sudden anxiety attacks . I will be sick for two days until it passes. I have tried everything for the anxiety but nothing works. I want to try xanax again occasionally when I have these attacks but my doctor will not prescribe it . I can never sleep either due to worrying and anxiety and think that xanax might help.
Hey, I have been having panic attacks for about three years. I now have agoraphobia too.
I have been trying to so hard to deal with it on my own, I have tried (I think) everything and nothing works. I really can’t cope with them anymore. They happen everyday and I can no longer stop them. I feel so distant from reality most of the time. I am terrified of going to school and leaving my house.
I still manage to go out as long as I know I can run away at any time or I’m with someone who knows how to deal with it.
Whenever I have one I don’t tell anyone, not even my friends. Everyone around me is so unaware, I don’t let them notice but Inside I feel like I’m tearing apart.
I’m going to the doctor tomorrow, I want medication but I want to know what you do/did to stop your panic attacks?
Thanks
I have fought panic attacks for over 40 years and am more
than tired of all the different doctors from all fields of practice.
I have even had doctors now-a-days tell me you’ve had this
long that no treatment can help ! Any ideas are better than
theirs. Thanks
I suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks whenever I have to give presentations or public speaking. I have been receiving information about the one move technique but everything I look at says you have to purchase. I really can’t afford to purchase anything, but I need to get over my anxiety because it is taking over.

Any people who are into business like and are smart and had panic disorder or anxiety problems and how they got over it?
My friend is prone to these. She is really sweet, but totally insecure and won’t go to see anyone for this problem. Her Dr. diagnosed her with Panic/Anxiety attacks, but she is afraid to use drugs..ANyone with similar problem and remedy? Serious replies please
When I say she won’t see anyone, I mean a psyciatrist.
I’m 22 and I’m still covered by my dad’s insurance because I’m in college. I’ve pretty much always been agoraphobic, and lately it seems like I’ve been having intense and frequent panic attacks (particularly at work), and I’m sick of not dealing with it. I want to talk to a doctor but I’d like to avoid having my parents find out. Is that possible?
This year in school has been exceptionally hard for me, considering I started a week late, and I am in an Honors class that I dont want to be in. So anyways, this year I started to get these weird feelings, like I went to homecoming and felt sick out of nowhere. I would all of the sudden feel like i was extremely nervous and I would feel like I was going to throw up. So anyways, as the school year has progressed they have gotten worse, ex. Ill get them at football games, trick-or-treating, and even threw up when I went to the movies with my cousin and siblings. So I couldnt take it anymore, I went to the doctor and they told me it was anxiety attacks. I was perscribed to Aterax, but it doesnt seem to work, in fact in one incident it made it worse. This is seriously preventing me from enjoying my life, and Im tired of missing out because Im scared I will throw up and ruin everything! Help?! (Ps. If it helps to know I am 15 and a sophmore in highschool)
I have been having overwhelming anxiety and panic attacks for about a month. This consists of stomach pains and nausia, diarhea, indigestion, heart palpatations, and fatique. Lately it’s become so over powering I’ve become more emotional. I am two days late for my period now too. I took an early pregnancy test a few days ago that was negative, but could this still be a symptom?
Has anyone had symptoms like this in their pregnancies?
I have failed the driver’s test 4 times. But, I am a very good driver. I’m almost 17 so I’ve been driving for almost 2 years. With my mom, my grandpa, or my friends in the car, I am comfortable and drive fine. Every time I have taken the driver’s test, I get so nervous that I fail instantly because my nerves drive me to do something stupid like go the wrong way. I know I wouldn’t do if the officer wasn’t in the car. Last time I tried took the test, I had a panic attack and cried in the dmv’s bathroom, still took the test and failed. Please give me advice as to how to make myself not nervous or if you are aware of any anxiety medications.
